This is a two-day crash course that provides a comprehensive introduction to the technology that underlies cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Included in the course package is a hardware wallet (worth ~0) for securely storing cryptocurrencies and worth of Bitcoin and Ether. Tickets are available for each day individually, and all tickets are available with or without the wallet and coins. Requirements: Day 1 is an introduction accessible to anyone, with or without a background in computer science. The only requirements are curiosity and concentration. However, parts of Day 2 involve hands on programming, and will not be as accessible to those with no experience programming. That said, if you have even basic grasp of the command line (you've used the terminal and git and have typed some commands in any programming language), you should be ok.  Day 1 – Introduction (August 19th, 10:00am – 4:00pm): – Background on the Internet, Cryptography, and Finance – Bitcoin: the worlds first decentralized digital currency – or cryptocurrency – Ethereum: general purpose computing and "smart contracts" with cryptocurrencies – The Wider Blockchain Ecosystem: cryptocurrency technology threatens to disrupt *every* industry – Wallets: receive your cryptocurrency wallet and learn to use Bitcoin and Ethereum   Day 2 – Technical Deep Dive (August 20th, 10:00am – 4:00pm): – How the blockchain works: ins and outs of the public ledger, transactions, node network, mining, and consensus. – The structure of a transaction. – Smart contracts on Ethereum: How to write them and how they work. – Custom blockchain applications on Tendermint: How to write them and how they work. Please note that Day 2 involves more hands on programming experience
