But change is now the currency of the wider economic, social and political environment, and its scale is unprecedented. 'Business as usual' is no longer an option. In order to thrive and make an impact we will need to find ways to challenge old ways of how we've done things and find new ways forward. VAL's annual conference is designed to help Lewisham's VCSE sector embrace its strengths and explore ways forward; and will be preceded by VAL's AGM. Charting the way ahead for Lewisham's VCSE sector will provide a space for local charity leaders and activists to: consider the changes in Lewisham and their implications for local VCSE groups and communities learn about VAL's direction of travel in an ever-changing environment explore together examples of new ways of working and how they can be applied more widely locally hear from a panel of London funders attend the launch of VAL's exciting heritage project celebrating 50 years of grassroots social action in Lewisham network and identify potential joint working opportunities.
